Once again Mother Nature smiled upon Midvale Speedway with beautiful mostly sunny skies and higher to mid-80's for Bloom’s Printing/Pepsi Night which featured $1 Hot Dogs and $1 Soft Drinks at "Thunder In The Valley". Seventy plus machines entered through the Pit Gate. Decent crowd witnessed some great side by side racing action for week #3.
First on the track was the Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds. 13 Modifieds started the 25 lap feature. Front row featured #88 of Chris Piehl and the #3 of Tad Grove. Green Flag flew for the 25 lapper. Piehl and Grove battle side by side for the first lap. Peihl had Grove clear off of turn number 2 but caution flew for the 27 for Braden Swaney who spun on his on and collected the 09 of Philip Cox. Both were able to continue. On the restart, featured the same front row from the start of race. Green waved on the restart, an Grove had a good start and Piehl spun his tires and Allensworth in the 21 goes to the outside of Piehl to gain the second spot off of turn 2. Grove and half the field passes the line and caution comes out for the 27 of Swaney, spinning on his own into infield. Restart to come up with Grove and Allensworth, 2 laps in 23 laps to Green Flag waves. Top 4 single out with Grove, Allensworth, Stewart, and Sibila. Lap 4 Lee McCreery and Doug McMillen make contact off of turn 4. Lap 5, 88 of Piehl, tries to close the door on the 55 of Brandon Bailey, but cant and doesn’t see Bailey, and Piehl goes up the track and Bailey spins off of turn 4 caution waves for the third time. Restart with Grove and Allensworth and Green waved. That lap the 25 of Shawn Marder spins into turn 3 on his own. Another restart with 20 laps to go. Grove and Allensworth both ready, Green off of turn number four. Grove pulls away using the inside, Allensworth slams the down shut on Stewart on the back-straightaway. Lap 7 back deep in the pack, 38 of McClintock and 54 of Doug McMillen battling, and here comes the 2 of Lee McCreery trying make 3 wide, but McClintock and McMillen shut the opening down. A lap 9 Caution waves for the 25 of Marder who goes around on his own. Lap 9 Restart, Grove and Allensworth, bringing the field to green. Green waves and Grove takes lead off turn 2, Allensworth, try’s to close the door, and does but 11 of Stewart was there, and Stewart bring out the caution. Lap 9 Restart and also the last Restart of the night for the Modifields. Grove and Allensworth, side by side off turn 4 green flag waves. Into turn 1, Allensworth slides up the track, opens up the bottom for Siblia,McMillen and top Qualifier, Lee McCreery who was on a roll and had his sites on the top 3. Grove was getting pressure from Sibila who is doing double duty tonight. Sibila was all over the #3 of Grove for final 16 laps, but on lap 25, Terry Colletti and the Double Checkered Flags had the #3 Sponsored by J.D. Byrider,CNAC Financing, and Gregs Recovery, from Uhricsville,Ohio driver, Tad Grove in Downtown Ford Victory Lane. Following Grove, was Sibila Jr, McCreery, McMillen, and Allensworth. After completing the first lap, going into turn one the #03 of Hughes and #11 of Barker make contact. Next time around, you can tell the #11 was going to have steering problems because he had way to much camber on the right front. Single file, after lap 1, until Lap 4, when the #55 is Blacked flag for going under his qualifying time, but caution waved, because the top 3 divisions, if going under your time in feature, yellow waves and you go to the tail. #55 went off the track but was able to come back and started 13th. Restart on lap 4, feature #80 of Patterson and the #11 of Barker who is battling with camber problems on right front. Green Flag waves for restart. Barker and Patterson side by side down back-straightaway. Into turn three Barker has lead and off turn four all barker but caution will come out, for the #03 of Hughes getting into the #74 of Passwaters Jr in turn 3 and off of four spinning Passwaters into infield. Lap 4 Restart with Patterson and Barker. On the start Barker falls back, as it looks like steering might become a problem. A lap after restart, on lap 5 a caution waves for the #80 of Patterson and #74 of Passwaters Jr, making contact in the middle of one and two, sending Passwaters sideways on track in turn two. Lap 5 restart was the last restart for the Street Stock. Passwaters Jr, who won opening night, and Outside him, was last week’s winner, the #3 of Kyle Grove. Green flag waves, side by side racing by both 2015 winners but of turn number four, we had a new leader, Kyle Grove takes the lead on lap 6. Grove was trying to check out but Passwaters didn’t want it to go to easy. Passwaters didn’t give up, but Grove started to check out and put some distance on 2nd place.
