For the 62nd time, Midvale Speedway will open its doors to the 3/10 mile Asphalt Speed Plant for fans this Saturday April 18th for The McIntosh Oil Company Season Opener

Teams from all 5 regular Divisions were on hand this past weekend drivers had a chance to shake down their machines in preparation for the 23 race schedule that runs from this weekend until September 19th.

Six McIntosh Oil Company Late Model's took time with Former Champion Ryan Tedesco clocking in quickest with a 14.057, knocking the rust off of his #70 after more than a year hiatus. Tedesco is always a favorite to win in anything he straps into. 2-time Champion and Late Model track record holder and the 2014 Season Championship race winner Bubba Smith along with Rookie Mike Martin were close behind. Martin is a former Pure Stock and the reigning Mini Truck Champion. 2014 Points Champion Bob Schneider Jr also shook down his new #17.

Twelve Summit Racing Economy Modifieds were on course with 2013 and 2014 Economy Modified Points Champion Kevin McClintock fastest in his beautiful #38 with a 14.678. McClintock is a 7-time Track Champion in various Divisions. Sophomore Bryce Allensworth and Rookie Doug McMillen rounded out the top 3. McMillen, a former Detroit Iron Champion who has competed on a part time basis in the Late Model Division for a number of years is expected to do the same in the Modified this season.

In the JD Byrider Street Stock Division, The driving duo of Josh Moss and Todd Miller who pilot the #77 topped the timing sheet of the 7 cars on hand with a 16.373. Robbie Patterson and Rookie Kyle Grove, who is a former Compact Champion, rounded out the top 3. Last year’s Champion Dennis Wood is not expected to defend his title in 2015, but is expected to compete.

In the Canton Auto Salvage Compact Division 16 cars practiced with the duo of Jake Albright in the #10 and the #07 of Don Rufener III timing Into the 16's but won’t compete on a regular basis. #175 of Justin Renicker led the charge of regular competitor's with a 17.714 and has to be one of the early favorites for the title along with last season’s Champion Dan Buckey.

Last but not least is the Finish Line Motors Mini Truck's. The Division only seen 2 trucks take time with Cody Jaberg in the #22 topping the list and Derek Cordia close behind. The truck count should be up this season as many teams were finishing up last minute details to make the season opener.

The 2015 Season Schedule is packed with something for everyone! The Main Event Racing Series will pay two visits to "Thunder In The Valley" with the first being Friday Night July 3rd for The Downtown Ford 100. Then on Sunday September 6th for The JD Byrider 75 and The Open Modified 40. Both of The Main Event dates will have one of the best Fireworks displays in the County scheduled! Also making return visits are The MSA Winged Super Modifieds on July 18th and The Super Cup Stock Car Series on August 8th. Fan Favorites such as $1 Dog and $1 Pop nights, Autograph Night, Kid's Race Car Rides, Christmas in July, Spectator Drags, 2 Skid Plate Races and the season ending Trailer Race all found their way back onto the action packed schedule.

One final Test and Tune is scheduled from 4-8 Friday Night April 17th with $10 Pit Admission, Grandstands are free.

The Season kicks off THIS SATURDAY NIGHT APRIL 18th!

Pit Gates open at 2:30, Hot Laps and Grandstands at 3, Qualifying at 4:45 with Racing action getting the Green Flag at 6:30.

Adult General Admission is $12, Seniors 62 and older $10, $8 for Children 6-15 and Childern 5 and under are FREE. Pit Admission is $30.
